New Car
Skoda Octovia
The Octovia was the first car to be unveiled by Skoda Auto after Volkswagen took over the reins of the company. The car will also mark the entry of Skoda into India. The fit, finish and feel of the car were indeed very good. Noise vibration and harshness muted. It is surely a product of precision engineering and has the terrific build quality of European cars.
But what is likely to weigh in Skoda's favour is its price tag. The company has said both the diesel and petrol versions will coast about Rs 11 lakh. This is a price few can resist. Even top of the size Opel Club costs nearly that, so too the Mitsubishi Lancer. They are simply no match to the Octovia. The -inch alloy wheels add to safety and ride quality apart from giving the car an added aesthetic appeal. Boot is huge and can store enough luggages for long journey. The seating position for the driver is comfortable with ample room for the tallest drivers. Hyundai Sonata
Hyundai's Sonata is here, the third item on the programme after the Santro jingle and Accent serenade. Sonata looks like a bigger brother of the accent. The rear of the Sonata looks neat and well proportionate with the rear spoiler adding a sporty touch. The interiors are the plushest in the business and the features justify the luxury positioning of the vehicle. Leather upholstery and a veneer finished centre console and door control panels add to rich effect. The windows are lowered with a one touch button and as expected the mirrors are electronically operated, the bucket seat are ergonomically superior to most luxury vehicles inIndia. Plenty of legroom for both front and rear passengers makes long drives more comfortable, and optimum use is made of the size and width of Sonata. With the kind of engineering, design, styling, and performance, the sonata will be giving all luxury and premium cars a run for their money. This is assuming that Hyundai can price it reasonable enough and maintain production through its third shift.

Santro meets compact exterior dimensions without any sacrifice in interior comfort. Santro equals or betters the competition in basic dimensions. High functionality dictated the terms of the overall design, but Santro skilfully incorporates elements of charm and fun for family appeal.
The Santro provides a fresh perspective on small car styling. Skilfully combining both rounded and edge elements, Santro is a five door small car endowed with a distinctive look.
The basic design concept called for a wide and tall package: Utility was at the top of the list, followed by agility and versatility but without any sacrifice of comfort. The basic dimensions are ultra-compact. Being just 3,495 mm long and 1,495 mm wide, the Santro is small enough to fit into the smallest parking space.
